I have had areas where more than five chest have spawned. At times I have experienced when I have killed a boss a new chest will spawn.

Vabbian keys 600g/Lockpicks 1200-1500g
I prefer using lockpicks due to the high chance of using only 1 lockpick every 2-3 runs, when u have a good rank.
Easy runs, start in Mihanu Township. End up close to Dzagonur Bastion.
5 min runs and usually 4-5 chests.

You always get 5 chest. A few rare times I had 4 and went back and found it (missed it somehow).
Anyway I do all 5 chest in about 8 min checking all locations. That's 60/8=7,5 runs in an hour. 7,5*5=37,5 chest per hour.

Ice Dome is a good place to run if you want a new location. It can be done in NM and HM. there is KD there, but it happens very rarely. The beasts us it, but tend not to if you're not attacking. You can even sliver that area if you're bored and chest running and want to do something different. 2-4 chests on average. Bring a shadow step to stop the body block. Very fast run. Since it's not an explorable area next to a town, i fight my way to Ice Dome. When you enter, put up SF. Your H/H will die fast.

I've seen some posts about this but not a guide.
Anyway here is the map and attributes.
[Chestrun;OgcSc5PT3lpGsSTQhO6M0kuM]
About the map:
Stars - possible chest location (always 5 chests)
Red - Route
Yellow- Shadow of haste route
1 - If when you get here you have at least 4 chests you should start again (you loose too much time getting the other chest)
Equipment:
Axe or Sword with hp+30 or Enchantments last 20% (none of them is really needed)
Shield: any with -5/20 and hp+30
Time - Around 8 minutes for a full run (most of the times you get the five chest before)
Here's a youtube video of a run. Sorry about the quality, still noob at enconding.

Sorry if this is a wrong area to post but this is the closest thing i could find to it, me and a guildie was wondering if there are any nooby/low level island chest running areas that people know of to gain points for the lucky title?
Thanks F&S.

at 9400 chests now, been runnning fire islands for chance of magmas shields. got bout 12 of these (gold) in 300 runs and many purps. none of any real value but some singlemods q9's.
also I find that its more interesting if you chest run in an area where you can get really rare waepons.
I have done about 3-4000 chests in melandru's hope. found q7 echovald shield. (1 year ago)
have also found multiple dual gothics, gothic shields etc....
really depends if you care about the thrill of finding good items or you just want the title,
either way its alot of time so good luck on your travels .....
(ill have my max this week)

Boreal station is the fastest and easiest for me (1min and 30 secs for the 1st 3 chests) .There's usually a chest within that run but rarely do all 3 pop out.
I've done full runs of this map quite a few times and I've never gotten more than 4 chest spawns. I've also found out that if you've only found 0-1 chest spawns on the first 1 min and 30 secs, it's better to look around the 1st group of mandragors and past Oxflinger (norn boss) to see if there are any additional spawns rather than simply repeating the run.
Most common spawn locations:
1st chest: Hill with the wurms (sometimes spawns east to the hill)
2nd chest: North of the hill where the wurms are, but sometimes it spawns east to where the pinesouls are.
3rd chest: Pinesoul area
4th chest: 1st mandragor group beside the chilling wisps

But never half of them out of a large number of runs. Anyone else seeing this? Seems kinda lame to me, if indeed a nerf.
|
Yeper looks like this is nerfed if used for periods of time.
I found the SAME thing. I would then alternate between Boreal Station and Gunners Hold - BOXING-
Here is what I found.
Character name: A S L A N
Location: Boreal Starion/Gunner's Hold
Difficulty: None/Lag
I bought 200K worth of Lockpicks - 160 of them and started running. My Tresaure hunter was lvl 4 and my Lucky lvl 4. Normal mode retention was 60%
I charted my runs by "drops" - Gold and Purple and starting at 2,182 Chests opened. As of this morning I have exactly 2,500 chests opened.
Here are my findings...
I started with 183 picks - after buying 160 of them -
Retained 200 times
Broken 118
I should have had 60% Retention rate. My ret. was exactly 62%
Cost of Lockpicks was - 147,500 gold (more on this later)
Gold Drops - 89 or 28%
Purple Drops - 229
I intentionally left 0 gold in my inventory BEFORE running out so I knew how much gold I generated in sales.
My inventory show 90,000 gold (rounded up) this does not include the 22K I got for the one For Get Me Not 20% that I got as a drop.
So my total gold earned from running chests since last Friday - today is Monday morning - is 112K (rounded up to nearest 1K)
So Total cost is 147,500 - 112,000 = a piddily 35,500 gold.
As for time to run these chests. It takes LONGER to run Boreal Station than it does KillRoy's Boxing.
Also my retention rate seemed higher when I was doing the Boxing for some reason.
ALSO, there is a Possibility of getting a SUP VIG from the boxing were as there is zero chance at Boreal station.
So when runes are taken into account, Boxing is way more proffitable.
I got almost 18000 Unlucky and 50,000 Lucky in 3 days or less.
I will continue to chart this. I now have 2500 Chests opened and I am at 587,000 Lucky . SO my retention rate is 40 + 15 (th) + 8 (l) = 63%
I will start with 100 Keys and 0 gold. I should keep the pick 163 times and break it 100 times for 263 chests opened. I should be able to do this in just under 5 hours and earn 46,500 gold without special drops for a costs of 125 000g and a loss of 78,500 gold.
(purples at 150g and Golds at 250g) We will see...

Ho; P = .6
Ha; P > .6
P = True proportion of lockpicks retained.
(P(Observed)-Po)/Sqrt((Po x (1-Po)/n)=Z
P(Observed)=.62, Po=.6, N=318
(.62-.6)=.02
Sqrt((.6 x .4)/318) = .027
.02 / .027 = .740740... = zscore = .7704
Fail to reject the Ho that the true proportion of lockpick retention is .6.
Which means that getting a 62% observed retention rate is very reasonable when the true proportion is actually 60%
Of course, your retention rate was NOT exactly .62, but actually much closer to .63 (200/318=0.62893). This doesn't change much, however.
I'll be honest, I just wanted to see if I remembered how to do a significance test.

easily forgetting that 90% of the drops in hardmode are gold, and 1 in 20 drops are usually an elite tome which is easily 5k+ [covers cost of 4 picks]
also running in normal mode boreal, has less chests that pop up near the worms, i hardly or never find a dry run in hardmode, maybe 1 in 10 zones that a chest is further away from the wurms but hard mode = more creature spawns which means more chest spawns, so boreal is faster for treasure hunter if done in hardmode

Hello, I'm looking to kinda max my lucky/unlucky titles this weekend. atleast I want to get alot of points what do you guys think is the best place to get alot of chest fast. I prefer not to run fronis irontoe thingy or the wurms at Boreal station, but if you guys think that's the fastest I'd like to know that

And by the way, I have Proph and Factions, but not Nightfall and I don't plan on getting NF any time soon. EoTN is out of the question, I believe, because there are no low-level chests (obviously, it's made for level 20s, lol).

I know a few people who chest run in Minister Cho's Estate, since there are 2-4? chests throughout the mission, and it can easily be run using Necrotic Traversal.

Is there an anti chest running code pertaining to drops? I didnt look really hard, but didnt find any info.
New areas are pretty good to me, then drops turn to crap real fast. As you can see I am also interested in golds. Last night after 15 hm snowman runs items went from all golds and elite tomes to all grapes so I stopped.

Try Fronis Irontoe's Lair (Kilroy Stonekin's Punchout Extravaganza Quest/Dungeon). There is always 1 Locked Chest, and it takes ~1 minute to do the run and map back to Gunnar's Hold to keep going in. Go in HM, it's still runnable. Just enter the Dungeon, follow Kilroy when he heads towards the first 2 Stone Summit, and as soon as he gives you the "Kilroy Stonekin!" Shout buff, run like a madman to reach the Locked Chest before it runs out.
The rooms in the Dungeon are as follows:
First Room - Stone Summit, Chest never spawns here
Second Room - Stone Summit, Ettin - Chest can spawn here
Third Room - Stone Summit, 2 Stonewolves - Chest can spawn here
Fourth Room - Stone Summit - Chest can spawn here
Fifth Room - Stone Summit, Lieutenant Maghmar - Chest never spawns here
Sixth Room - Fronis Irontoe, Ettin - Chest can spawn here
I've never had a Locked Chest spawn in either the first room or the room with Lt. Maghmar.
In the 3rd room (one with Stonewolves) the Locked Chest can spawn really close to, and sometimes behind, the wall. If this happens, it's best to map back to Gunnar's and re-enter, because even if you do manage to open the Chest, you might not be able to pick up the drop.
If the Chest doesn't spawn in rooms 2, 3, or 4, map to Gunnar's and re-enter. You run this, you don't fight your way through (takes way too long if you are only doing this for the Locked Chest), and if it's not in rooms 2, 3, or 4, it's in the last room, which means going through the "Fight Club" of Summit as well as Maghmar and his 3 goons, which is a waste of time.

I ran this to finish my Treasure title a long time ago; I'm back here to hopefully finish off Unlucky.
Anyway ~ my point here is that you don't have to do the "Fight Club". Just keep running toward the last room (where Fronis and the Ettin are) and enter that room between the right wall and the guy blocking the door on the right side. Just prior to reaching Fronis, your speed boost will no longer be in effect, so heal up and then get the chest.
